Pros
Southwest always did a wonderful job of hiring good people that are fun to work with. The benefits are great; medical, dental, vision, profit-sharing/retirement, and of course, flight benefits.
Cons
The work environment is quickly changing. For 51 years Southwest promised a stable work environment, but that has changed with recent layoffs of nearly 2,000 employees. Southwest traditionally had focused on taking care of their Employees, who would then take care of Customers, who would then take care of the Company. This has changed and the focus is on an immediate increase in profit - even when it means going against their own marketing campaign - transfarency - no hidden fees and rules. Southwest is no longer a unique airline for Employees or Customers.
