What is the salary like at Seattle Credit Union?

Good benefits. Get to work from home. Pto whenever they allow you to use it.

Very low pay. Constantly over worked because the company is always understaffed. I was always promised a better schedule but management never follows through and then a few days later I see others below me in seniority getting better days off or better hours that meet what they are looking for. Management apparently tracks your progress in the company to see how you are doing but you don’t get access to it so you can’t see how good you are actually doing, then they promise pay raises, better schedules and free days off if you do better. But it seems like I’m never doing good enough even tho there is no proof or way to track how I am actually doing. Training is terrible, I was constantly having to figure things out on my own specially when I first started. There was systems and certain things I wasn’t trained on and when I’d ask questions about how to do it properly I would get yelled at and no one would actually help. Also you have to deal with customers all day who are super rude and mean over the phone. People really treat you differently over the phone than in person and there is nothing you can do about it except take it. Company really doesn’t pay or compensate well for the constant working and deal with rude customers.

PTO & only 1 good person in the whole credit union.

DONT APPLY , there’s better jobs out there. TRUST. Horrible pay, the worst company I’ve worked for. They don’t have a real proper Employee training , they just send you on the floor without product knowledge or how to maneuver their system. Seattle credit union is known for a Horrible work environment. Every single month someone is leaving the company or getting fired. Higher up leaders always Yap about how they care about their employees and the work environment but they don’t do anything at all. All they care about is trying to have a good image since they’re down BAD. They hire CHILDISH Assistant Branch Managers that DISRESPECT their own colleagues and try to yell at them Infront of members like they are talking to their kids at home. Seattle credit union will never find the solution to the problem they have with branches because they rather put money for higher up positions that are irreverent and not put money where the real work gets done at, branch staff. Seattle credit union can’t even fire the people that cause the issues in branches.

Doesnt like to promote from within, lending sales positions arent eligible for annual merit increase, stressful sales goals with fear of job loss if goals arent met on a monthly basis, inconsistent management, favoritism, revolving door of management, no room for advancement, base pay is very low compared to other financial institutions, heavy work load

Terrible management, no accountability whatsoever. This department is going to crash and burn with their current leadership. Lot’s of favoritism in that department and in the credit union in general. No room for development, you are expected to shut up and just do your job and be careful about complaining. Good employees are expected to do other lazy employees job because they are “overwhelmed” but you cannot under perform otherwise you will be talked to. Working here was very stressful, I couldn’t even breathe when I was there and I got lot’s of anxiety. I reached out to HR about an issue with management and an employee and they did nothing. They expect us to “trust” them when they let us down so many times. They do nothing for their employees unless you are a favorite. Seattle CU was great when I started 5 years ago. It started going downhill after they decided to go remote. Leadership is driving the department down it seems like they do not know what they are doing. Everything is placed on the production team. Zero accountability for LOs and they are free to send files however they want and expect production to pick up on their slack. Zero training here and the new system is terrible!! They let their employees struggle and go through the implementation which was the worst. I don’t even want to get started with their underwriting. WHY would a small CU have a third party UW? Many complaints have been brought up about UW and they’ve done nothing. Not to mention pay is literally crap, they expect you to do so much with such little pay. If management is not removed they will deff fail. They are down to about 9 employees in the mortgage department. If you were thinking about applying here please save your time it is not worth it!! It’s literally hell I am so glad I left.
