What is the company culture like at RingCentral?

      RingCentral reviews

      Inhumane treatment

      Technical onboarding specialist
      Current employee
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

There are a lot of opportunities internally. From time to time doors open for promotion that encourages employees to work more on developing their skills.

      Cons

I’m disappointed to see how this company shifted away from its initial promise of being employee-centric. The excessive internal politics have created a toxic work environment where navigating office politics seems to take precedence over genuine employee support and development. This has led to a noticeable drop in morale and productivity, and it’s becoming increasingly difficult to trust the company’s commitment to its staff. It’s clear that the focus has shifted from fostering a supportive workplace to managing political maneuvering, which is disheartening for those who valued the company’s original values. Additionally, the prevalence of internal politics can result in poor decision-making, as decisions may be influenced more by political maneuvering than by merit or strategic consideration. This environment can also contribute to instances of inhumane treatment from management, further eroding trust and morale within the team.

      Pros

Good culture and hybrid set up, annual merit

      Cons

      Not full wfm, always hiring

Great company for fast pace, chance to make a difference

      Program manager
      Current employee
      Denver, CO
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

Compensation decent, culture is good, teamwork within my team is exceptional and we are able to achieve goals and get things done. Work/life balance and schedule flexibility is a big pro for me personally. My immediate leadership team (My Manager and my skip level) are some of the best Managers I've ever worked with - they trust me and let me lead my initiatives and are there for me when I ask for help. They have my back 100%

      Cons

Some dichotomy at the leadership level, heavy focus on cost savings and value add

      Great company

      Business outlook

      Pros

Great company culture and health benefits

      Cons

Might not give much of a job security

Very Poor Culture. UC Product is strong. CC Product is a mess. Lacking focus on DIRTFT

      Anonymous employee

      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

There are some really good people there.

      Cons

The core issue is that RC is an engineering company led by accountants. The company saw hyper-growth through the pandemic, but processes and leadership are lacking. Far too many silos of operations and poor communication across teams. Continuous lay-offs (lack of job security), lower than market pay, and Severe lack of proper customer journey support post sale creates a caustic culture. Products are built on disparate platforms and do not integrate well.

      Lack of transparency

      Anonymous employee

      Business outlook

      Pros

Good compensation Quarterly bonus Great product

      Cons

Lack of transparency and communication Leaders don't lead by example There's no culture of improvement or process orientation No recognition program / culture

      Fear is the mindkiller

      User experience designer
      Current employee
      Belmont, CA
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

They sure do pay an awful lot for my field.

      Cons

Almost every decision I’ve seen made by my teammates and peers is driven by fear. We don’t have autonomy. We don’t have psychological safety. We don’t have the freedom to take chances and tell the truth. If I had know what a top-down, dread-driven place this really is when I was comparing job offers, I would have rejected this one, even at double the price. There is no amount of money which can justify the working culture here.

      Good Company

      Business outlook

      Pros

Good company culture and good salary

      Cons

Seems like constant turnover, poor stock price, and belt tightening

      Just Disappointing

      Advanced support engineer
      Former employee
      Denver, CO
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

Some of the best people to work with at ground level. Middle management takes care of their people. When I first joined it was great here.

      Cons

The culture that used to be is now nonexistent, and has been replaced by typical corpo structure Upper management is completely disconnected from the reality employees face Increased workload, no compensation No communication whatsoever from upper management 2%-5% pay raises not based on quality of work Low chance of promotion unless you kiss behinds Idiotic return to office structure (remote product, yet workers forced to return to office. Meanwhile director is working from the comfort of their home in Iowa) Overly complex work processes that have been getting worse and worse overtime Bloated CRM (Salesforce) and administration team that will constantly make your life more difficult
