good company to work to gain experience

      Java junior developer

      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

      - great management when working on projects where everyone is supportive and encouraging - great work-life balance, even in peak season work is not too much to handle - great flexibility where you will have time to adjust your schedules often and manage your time well

      Cons

      - The biggest con is salary raises are rare even if the company's earnings are higher on a new year unless you gain a new title - No bonuses - if work is based on a contract, there is no guarantee they will keep you for long

Great Company Culture Driven by Strong Core Values and Excellent Benefits

      Cybersecurity auditor
      Current employee

      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

Peraton provides a genuinely supportive and forward-thinking work environment, augmented by an excellent benefits package. What truly sets the company apart is the consistent focus on its core values—you see them actively applied, not just stated. The benefits are comprehensive and a real differentiator. They include specialized, low-cost health resources like telehealth physical therapy and diabetes management, which covers diet and monitoring equipment. Additionally, the coverage offers extremely low-cost options for certain surgical procedures when performed at regional surgical centers, making high-quality care highly accessible. Beyond benefits, the emphasis on Team and Respect creates a highly collaborative atmosphere. My colleagues and managers are consistently willing to support each other, and this collective approach is fundamental to our project success. Furthermore, there is a deep sense of Trust inherent in the culture, allowing employees the autonomy to manage their work and deliver results. This trust fosters a high level of ownership and accountability. A major strength is the company's commitment to Excellence and Innovation. Leadership consistently encourages us to think creatively and embrace new technologies to solve complex challenges for our customers. The work itself is meaningful and aligns with a strong sense of Honor, knowing that our contributions directly support vital national security and government missions.

      Cons

While the company culture is strong, salary increases implemented last year felt minimal across the board, which could be an area for improvement in recognizing employee contributions.

      This Company Does Not Care

      Voip engineer
      Current employee
      Washington, DC
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

Benefits, besides PTO, are rather comprehensive. Dental, Health, Life, etc are all decent. The people hired for the jobs are competent and savvy. Pay isn't terrible when on-boarding.

      Cons

I have never seen management outside of program manager. The company prefers to see work done by skeleton crew to maximize contract profits as opposed to maximizing delivery. Little to no corporate assistance in periods of govt contract pushback. Forcing employees to use personal PTO for government holidays is just cheap. PTO accrual rates are below-average to begin with. 1.2% raises year on year are abysmal, even with out-of-band bonuses for above-average performance. They are a holding company, plain and simple. They do not care about their 20000 employees individually, obviously.

good people but corporate execs expect a lot

      Senior cloud architect
      Former employee
      Herndon, VA
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

Lots of really good people that work there. Benefits are okay

      Cons

The executive team expects departments to grow at rates that haven't been sustainable the last few years, and while pay raises were still the norm for the very top performers, don't expect much in the way of bonuses.
