Pros
incredible benefits and the cafeteria food taste/ options are good.
Cons
Lancaster General Hospital was one of the most racist companies/hospitals I've ever worked for. Not only was I targeted and given the most call hours than my coworkers that lived 30-40 min away at most, despite me being the only one that lived 90 min- 2hrs away; but my opportunities to transfer to another department or Penn Medicine position closer to home. In spite of me having numerous conversations with management at the time, Cindy, expressing how the amount of call and late hours being given to me was completely opposite of what I was told in the interview and upon accepting employment. Absolutely nothing was done to alleviate what was affecting my home life as well as my attendance dependability. I was one of three African Americans that worked there. I had to deal with constant microaggression and sometimes blatant aggression, ignorance and racism. They have recently had another African American employee walk off the job due to the same conditions. Now we both are being pressed on to give back the bonus given to us despite the negligence against us. I became physically sick which in turn caused me to lose the job at Lancaster General. My story is just one of many I have heard first hand from other African American employees, whether former or current.
