What is a typical working day like at O'Reilly Auto Parts?

Fun environment, many task to keep you busy, ever evolving custome base and store settings

Schedule was subject to change and change often, high turnover rate, lack of communication between staff amd higher ups, worked longer than scheduled shift was very very common

Working day shift and no weekends

Low pay for the work

Just started but in talking with other drivers they all love delivering or shuttling trailers saying it’s the “easiest job for the best pay and benefits.” Home daily and off weekends, matching 401k, currently Cigna insurance, stock options after 30 days. 2 weeks vacation for first years, 3 weeks after 5 and 4 weeks after 12 years. Pay currently tops out at about $35 an hour for shuttle drivers (getting loaded trailers from Lakeland each afternoon: avg 3:00 pm start, but varies), but for a job that’s super easy it’s not bad… shuttle drivers get paid for 10 hours a day, store delivery drivers (lift gates) get paid for 12 hours, this is regardless of whether you get done faster. Store deliveries are just dropping pallets and picking up returns and pay tops out a bit higher I think (start at 11:00 pm but also varies by route).

Only real con I’ve seen so far is just that it’s night work. But if you like driving with less traffic and enjoy listening to audio books it seems to be a low stress job.

-Good system for how to run a parts store, especially with delivery of parts every night. -If you have even a half decent manager, your time there will most likely be well spend and enjoyed.

-It is reliant on people working as a team most of the time which does not tend to happen just enough.

Nothing. Constantly violating Illinois labor laws. Filthy and poor working conditions.

Management constantly violating ILLINOIS labor laws. Work 10 hr shift without breaks or lunch. No breakroom. Employees are expected if they do eat to eat standing up except for manager and assistant manager.
