The exact stepping stone I needed.

      Licensed massage therapist
      Former employee
      Henderson, NV
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

Fantastic Franchise Owner (This can make a huge difference!) I chose my schedule and they were happy to work with me. I felt both valued and respected by the franchise owner and manager. Free continuing education. It’s a great stepping stone for a fresh out of school therapist.

      Cons

Low pay / you’re more so paid in experience and access to continuing education. Massage Envy doesn’t have a good reputation of therapist—some massage establishment owners and managers in my area will intentionally avoid even interviewing a massage therapist, if they see massage envy as a recent work place.

We at Massage Envy Franchising are disappointed to hear that you did not have a positive experience as an employee in a Massage Envy franchised location. In general, we believe franchisees aim to deliver on the Massage Envy brand values--to help you take care of you. We're disappointed to hear that you didn't feel the brand values delivered. Locations are independently owned and operated, so the employment experience that each provides is unique. If you could provide us with some additional details on your experience and your franchised location via email to meemployeebrand@MassageEnvy.com, we'll gladly route this feedback to the franchisee.

Revolving Door. Not worth your time.

      Wellness adviser
      Former employee
      Palm Coast, FL
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

      They offer continuing education courses.

      Cons

ME of Palm Coast, FL is a joke. They have a huge revolving door. There longest standing employee is under a year. In a matter of 2 1/2 weeks, 3 people have come and gone. They claim to offer flexible scheduling but they really don't. They expect you to have open availability and able to come on on your days off for training. They will lie about your work ethic without any proof. They will fire you on false accusations especially if you don't meet their availability requirement...even though it was already discussed prior to hiring. I was offered a certain schedule upon hiring, by the time I was done training (1 week) they had already changed my schedule 3 times and took one of the days offered to me away. If you're in the front desk, you're just a maid. Somehow they expect things to get cleaned, take care of laundry and trash, steam and swiffer, dust, file all without stepping away from your desk. You get penalized for being away from your desk doing other required duties. They'll promise advancement but rarely fall through with it! They claim work-Life balance but hours will be reduced or you will get fired if your availability does not align with theirs. I do not recommend ME of Palm Coast. ASHLEY is the new manager and employer with the company and she is a two face-liar. She is unable to communicate and be truthful. She will make up lies to make her look good. B E W A R E

      Pros

Lots of training and education with skin care reps. Will help you add additional certifications to your skills and will reimburse for continuing education.

      Cons

Not a huge clientele for services. They do not promote esthetics as much as massages but rely on the estheticians to meet retail goals. Not great pay. The pay structure is not meant to help you. A little bit of a struggle even as a full time employee.
