What is the salary like at Hollister Co.?

I've been with Hollister for over a year now, and I've enjoyed it for the most part. I came in with some experience working in retail, so becoming part of the team and getting trained was very easy for me, resulting in my managers and I being on good terms. At my store, I think the company culture is great, very accepting and generally fun to be a part of.

The pay isn't that great for how many hours lots of part time employees work; there were many occasions where I would work almost 40 hours/week, and I got paid very little. Additionally, while I got along well with management, the management could be stronger. There were many cases where people did not get documented for being no-call no-shows, for example, which was frustrating for those of us who never called out and always put forward 100% effort.

Not being unemployed is the only positive to this role

Where to begin, the management team is a disgrace, with unqualified and average at best BRs being promoted to higher positions when they are terrible at their job previously. Management is also consistently changing every 6 months because clearly nobody wants to work there long term once they learn what a terrible environment it is. The pay is awful at minimum wage and you won’t get any hours because they decide to hire new members of staff every 5 minutes. Managers in this store could do with some training on how to become decent human beings and learn to show some respect and empathy towards their members of staff instead of treating them like servants that shouldn’t have any emotions or feelings or ability to question anything that goes on. Access to HR is virtually impossible so reporting any ill behaviour from management won’t get far.

As a student, this was a really great part time job. Good pay, generous staff discount, other staff were very friendly. All around it was a very nice environment to work in.

Not many shifts were available as many staff were hired at one time. However there were many opportunities to cover over people’s shifts
