Pros
You work for the prestigious PepsiCo on notable Frito-Lay brands. The pay and benefits are good.
Cons
Exactly what the title says. PFUS Marketing is siloed by what team you are on. Although we are all marketing, working on the same brands, and trying to drive the same business - there is so much separation between teams that it affects overall culture, development, and our business results.
If you are not on a brand team - you don’t matter. They preach about promotions from within and career growth but that is only true for some. Groups and distribution lists are created for marketing but only certain teams (brand) are allowed in. If you want to be promoted to other marketing roles, you’re only prioritized if you are already on a brand team.
The department is so stuck on only giving opportunities to people that already have them that many ideas are not executable, not forward thinking, and reactive instead of proactive.
As a whole PFUS Marketing is great for brand marketing and only brand marketing. That is loud and clear for those of us in the room but never actually allowed a seat at the table.
