What is the hiring process like at Family Dollar Stores?

Not employee friendly, management expectations are beyond achievable

The HR department and the Management are all fairly new from what I’m used to and I was written up and fired within 4 months of getting my new boss. Noted that I had never ever been written up before then.

One of the best reasons for working at my location was the population of customers. Not too many people which did give us some downtime.

One con was the management and the process of hiring new workers. Some people would get hired out of desperation leading to them being highly unmotivated, lazy, and just outright not showing up.

Easy hiring and interview process. Quick virtual training. Great job for a teenager or someone who needs to find something quick or temporarily

Lack of employees, organization, communication, boundaries and transparency. Retaliation from management

Hire and train new applicants in as Assistant Managers instead of Customer Service Representatives....that way everyone is to move freely around the store ...Trained individuals with authorization to implement all tasks required...

Lazy ASM get all of the hours but aren't effectively utilizing labor hours....putting all the stress on CSRs....whereas most our time is spent stuck behind the counter waiting for ASSISTANCE FROM MANAGERS ....for voids... loadable cards etc....time consuming acts that result in long lines and agitated customers

None, crappy management don't care about employees

leaves new people in the store by themselves for an hour, no change in the drawer, long lines, manager and assistant manager take off during rush to go mess around. Manager even yells at customers, leaves venders hanging around while she is missing & she don't care about others.

High Demand must be very flexible with personal time.

Thief was a hugh problem and company expects for store managers and all team members to take full accountability for thief in stores.

Can work at multiple locations should they so happen to have a need for shifts to be filled with a shortage of employees to take them. Ease of process - hiring process was shockingly swift.... they didnt even interview me; however went directly to hiring processes

pays far below the necessary amount for the region(s) it employs individuals in/from required me to give completely open availibility - even stated/denied me to have sundays for religious purposes and reasoning only to alot me less than 16 hours per week. no employee discount
