Pros
Great people and fun projects. Generous holiday schedule including the full week between Christmas and New Year and 4 day weekends for Memorial and Labor Day Holidays.
Cons
Stagnant pay. While I was at the company (over 7 years) there was only one round of pay increases, and no cost of living adjustments, only “spot bonuses” that didn’t amount to much and were not annualized. Dentsu is struggling financially. The slightest blip in spending by a client will derail an entire team and yet executive management will spend hundreds of thousands of dollars to attend Cannes Lion ever year to “network” on mega-yachts and pat themselves on the back. Attrition is a huge problem; the best and brightest in all categories leave after a few years so all that’s left eventually are the complaisance who don’t want to rock the boat. They recruit young, new graduates that they can hire for lower wages (but good pay for a new grad.) but once hired there is not much room for advancement and wage increases are not consistent so after a few years the pay is no longer competitive for the experience the employee has. There is some good creative work that comes out of some of the groups, but the Experiential Events division is slow to innovate and is suffering.
