I can't think of any cons other than parking on campus can be challenging.

You do not need any experience great starting point very personable great relationships and connections flexible but professional involving great for personal growth

time consuming can be demoralizing (nature of research) may have to do work outside of hours

Outstanding teamwork and collaboration. Opportunities to move into other departments for many career fields. A chance to make a meaningful difference in the world.

Salaries are far below market in many technical fields. Not really remote-friendly. Some jobs allow hybrid work, but the schedules don't make much sense for optimal work-life balance.

Great Benefits and Retirement Plan. Top Notch employee training programs thru Flight Safety Seminars. Literally a 2 week paid Vacation to advance your career every 2-3 yrs.

Low Pay with zero advancement potential. Department Positions set in stone. No one leaves so no advancement.

Good benefits (if salaried), nice location, diverse minds, nice holiday schedule.

Beurocratic structure with limited flexibility for change, hard to advance career path, environment, policies, & expectations vary widely between departments.
