Pros
Deployment opportunities overseas. Nice new logo.
Cons
Cons: Too many to list but, here are some highlights Moral for overseas employees is at an all-time low. Confidence in Amentum is at an all-time low. Amentum strides lockstep with immoral government policies such as Covid regulations. Low competitive pay for experienced personnel. -50/75% Entry level, 0 experience, unlicensed employees earn the same as 10,20,30 yr. veterans. Company exploits workers in various ways. One way is that they prefer military experience because they are hiring trained personnel from the USG which isn't out of pocket for Amentum. The only training Amentum offers is required training which, by all standards, mostly internal training on regulations that are required by internal management. Employees are required to memorize in mass, company policies that have no bearing on the actual position. Pay isnt even moderately below industry standards. Its 50-75% below. Comparatively, civilian airlines pay anywhere from 43 to 80 per hour. Most Amentum positions pay 17-23 deployed with uplifts dictated by the State Department. Amentum uses the government provided uplifts as total hourly wage. Amentum taxes bonuses and travel pay as though you are stateside, disregarding the tax-exempt status of employees who remain deployed for over 330 days outside of the United States. Bare minimum security, equipment, contingencies for hazardous hostile or imminent threat positions. Amentum consistently seeks out and employs foreign employees for US military positions to reduce cost. Amentum boasts 9B in excess profits vs. an airline such as American Airlines posting 833M in 2023. Amentum provides 0 training, education, does not own the hangers, aircraft, material or resources etc. that is leaches from the USG. It should be noted, in the past, to maximize profits for shareholders, Amentum (DynCorp) opened an OCONUS shell Corp to minimize tax implications, insurance exposure etc... In final, to be very clear, Amentum has been found to take out life insurance policies on employees on hazardous duty, imminent danger positions. This is exactly why Amentum left employees in Afghanistan AFTER the evacuation of Kabul. They were volunteered to stay after the evacuation and only left Kabul on the very last aircraft available. Amentum (DynCorp) retains the very same management for decades. Only the name changed.
