What is the salary like at Alo Yoga?

      Alo Yoga reviews

Prioritizes influencers / celebrities over employees

      Anonymous employee
      Current employee
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

Pretty office, nice employees, employee events

      Cons

It feels like the influencers and celebrities are more prioritized and given better perks than the employees who work tirelessly to keep this company running. They are gifted free clothing and food, while most employees are not given any clothing and have to pay for it themselves. There are certain employees working in the corporate office who get free items every quarter, while the rest get nothing. They say it is "store facing" corporate employees, but most of them are in the corporate office at their desk and not ever at the stores. A lot of the influencers getting this treatment do not even have large followings, so it feels like it is not even very effective. We also are not able to use the gym past 7:30 AM so that the influencers can use it. They also decreased the discount amount while they continue to raise prices, so it doesn't even feel like the clothes are very affordable especially considering the low wages they are paying most employees.

      I mean .. its retail

      Business outlook

      Pros

free clothes, good discount, very easy work, decent pay (above minimum wage), nice coworkers, busy store = bonus/more hours and money to be made

      Cons

every time i don’t sell a shoe in my first hour i spend the rest of the shift filled with anxiety, passive aggressively badgered by management, worried my employment is at risk just because the customers that day don't want to buy a shoe

Horrible pay, extremely overworked, demands sales targets with 0 compensation

      Sales associate
      Current employee
      Brooklyn, NY
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

Generous discount, that's the only benefit.

      Cons

This most infuriating thing is despite the fact we only get paid $1 above minimum wage (in NYC, as of April 2024m it's $16, we get paid like $17), they demand you to meet sales targets every single day but offer no commission. NO COMMISSION! You can get paid the same bagging groceries with less stress. Also, the store is constantly understaffed and so we are very overworked, especially if you have to close.

      Avoid Working Here

      Gsa (guest sales associate)
      Former employee

      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

      I cannot give even one

      Cons

I would avoid working here at all costs. The culture at this place is horrible through and through. Not only were the majority of the people that worked there (I'm talking both retail and corporate level) incredibly crude, constantly on a power trip and conniving, but also tone deaf and disregarded POC unless if you were famous. They also put way too much pressure for you to meet goal for a company who does not even work on commission and get paid a garbage hourly, and on top of that they make their sales go so insanely high that it is quite impossible to reach so good luck getting a bonus. Which is quite laughable especially when you have managers running around every morning explain this is our sales goal, and these are our numbers as if that affects me. The only culture about this company is greed and whatever is profitable. (If I could give this place a 0 out of 5 rating I would especially on diversity and inclusion because I dealt and witnessed a lot of racism)

      Big pros and serious cons

      Anonymous employee
      Former employee
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

Benefits are pretty good. Learning and growth opportunities are wide. Pay is decent compared to most other companies.

      Cons

There is zero work life balance, you are expected to work very long hours with minimal recognition. Support from department heads is almost non existent. They are quick to blame rather than supporting with solutions. Work related stress will deteriorate your mental health. This is the farthest from a wellness brand. If you truly care about the quality of work you put in and life you live, don't work here.

      Pros

      The company has decent pay

      Cons
