There is a reason why more senior employees have stayed. They value the work and mission of the library more than they value the poor wages. They are able to endure the lack of respect they experience from management. They rely on the union to protect them from administration's out of touch leadership.
There is a reason why the company has been hemorrhaging employees for many years. EDI efforts are well intended, but often lip service only. Leadership is a coin toss. Many supervisors and managers I've worked with have been great. We have many in leadership who I would consider a "missing stair," meaning they are problematic to those below them but somehow they continue to be employed because no one can stick their neck out and say something about it. I've seen good managers and supervisors turn sour over the course of their time at Timberland.
