Pros

Not usually one to write reviews, but wanted to share my experience as it seems quite different from some of the recent contributions. I've been here for some time now and while things are not perfect, it's one of the better places (I've worked at multiple). - Strong curriculum despite changes over the years, just have to tweak our methods accordingly to ensure it's as effective as before for the students. I really like the material here, content is structured and interesting which keeps the kids engaged and helps them learn well. - Flexible hours aside from when classes have to be taught. Meetings are generally useful and not excessive. - Caring and supportive teams. People here are not just friendly in a hi-bye manner, but sincere and very willing to provide actual help when you need it. Some managers have stayed beyond their hours or reached out even when they're away to help me. Everyone (or well, most) strives to do their best and we're often acknowledged, encouraged, given suggestions on how to improve and so on. Very nice students and parents too. - Decent systems and decisions. I find it strange that some reviews harp about KPI so much because they've always existed since years ago... and will always exist in companies. I've also been on both sides, aka had to do more subs or marking when below KPI as well as given marking support after exceeding KPI. It's a somewhat fair exchange (as much as some factors are outside of the teacher's control, like which centre I am assigned to and how popular that centre is). At the end of the day if I'm teaching fewer classes or students, it's fair to give me a bit more to do and vice versa. Such is life.

Cons

- Limited progression but not something I am pursuing personally, since I like teaching and will prefer to focus on that. There are opportunities for various positions though you have to do well before getting a chance. Quite a number of current managers or curriculum staff started as teachers if I'm not wrong. - Increment not guaranteed, some years are better and some years are worse. - Heavy marking but the good thing is we don't mark compos every single week, so it's just more taxing on compo weeks. Such is life.

Pros

I love that TWC advocates rapport building, growth mindset and scaffolding. As a teacher, these really resonated with me and my own approach to teaching. It's so refreshing to be in a workplace where teachers are passionate and embody these concepts. Most of the people I've met here are warm, fun and so generous with sharing advice and support, managers included. No one makes you feel small for having questions or needing help.

Cons

Weekends can be hectic, as is expected for this industry.
