Pros

The highlight of working for Regency Hotels in the Black Hills is the historical and spiritual area of lodge location. Walking distance from Sylvan Lodge there's many trails, around Sylvan Lake, a hike to Devil's Tower, and beyond.

Cons

A few challenges of working for Regency include, at times very busy clientele and often you're pulled in many directions to complete work in a day. However, the staff at front desk and many managers lessen the load a great deal because communication is very organized. Front desk and managers regularly check in with workers throughout day, keeping staff updated on schedule changes, repair issues or anything else that needs addressed. Another challenge is sometimes there is a language barrier with many coworkers coming from different areas of the world. I find that almost all working travelers have a desire to learn and improve their English speaking skills. This is great! It helps to have a very patient disposition and awareness of their language skills development.
