Pros
I've been in Sales at Primera for many years. We've got a great sales team that is as solid as can be. Everyone helps each other out, gets along, and plays fair. I must also say that our inside sales manager, a longer-term employee, is one of the best, most understanding and motivating people I've ever worked with. Her mentorship to the team is outstanding. Senior management strongly supports her and her ideas, helping to make the sales team a highly cohesive and productive group of people.
Company morale and dedication stays high due in part to the innovative products that marketing, engineering, and product management keep bringing to new and existing niche markets. Also, Primera is one of the most ethical, honest, and straight-forward companies around, and it shows in many positive ways. Our online reviews prove that everyone here wants to do a good job to keep our customers happy. We typically have a 4.6 or higher on a scale of 5 on TrustPilot, one of the more popular online review sites.
Work/life balance is a big "pro" of working here. Yes, there are the occasional trade shows that take us away from home on weekends, but for the most part, we all are giddy to get out of town again as trade shows start back up. Other than that, management is fine with us going home and having family time. An example of this is Sundays -- it is the only day of the week that we don't offer online and phone tech support, and we're told that we never will. I respect that decision!
Cons
As a small to mid-sized company, Primera's benefits could be tweaked up a bit, such as a larger 401(k) match. However, the company's philosophies on compensation are to pay at or above market rates and then add commission or profit sharing onto every single employee's checks, which seem to more than make up for some of the additional benefits that larger companies might offer.
