Pros
The people who work at Optera all care deeply about combatting climate change in the corporate sector, and that passion contributes to every project and objective. It's also a very intentional and personal-growth-oriented environment -- this field is still changing, so consistent learning and evolving is critical and encouraged (including stipends for professional development).
Cons
There's a standard amount of chaos and uncertainty that comes from working at a startup. Building new programs and solving new problems from scratch is exciting, but can be daunting if you're used to working in a more established environment with set processes to follow.

-Incredible benefits and perks, including: 401K with match, every other Friday off, annual professional development budget ($500), annually wellness budget ($200), unlimited time off, company-wide bonus program, maternity and paternity leave, and WAY more. -Working while making a difference: as a Public Benefit Corporation, Optera isn't only focused on making money, but on making a difference in climate change -Amazing, respectful colleagues: Never met an Opteran I didn't like! I have always felt respected and trusted by all of my colleagues, no matter which level of seniority or which department they are in.
Cons
In my opinion, there aren't any cons. The only thing that you have to weigh is whether or not a startup environment is right for you. We don't always have defined processes for everything — but to me that's the fun part! We get to set and adjust processes because we are a newer company.
