Being a fresher, just out of college, I did not know what to expect. I had book knowledge but I learnt how to apply that in my professional work at Mindstick. Lot of pressure but mostly it is to make sure that I learn all aspects of software engineering. Learnt programming, database design, user interface design and on top of all "how to communicate". It took me sometime to figure how valuable the experience has been. Now when I see my friends in other companies outdated and me working on cutting edge technology, it makes me feel that I made the right decision.
