Pros

I enjoy working at LR even though it continues to have a hard time growing itself. Now that LR has moved from CA to VA it is doing a good job trying to hire the right fit people for the jobs needed. Most people hired are great and have a really good attitude towards the job. The product is amazing and has so much potential. Management has the right idea and a good take on where the future for the product is heading. I enjoy the comradery we are starting to build around our brand. Everyone identifies and is proud of their contributions. This day in age what matters to me the most is that the company that I work for cares about me and what I can add. I feel my manager appreciates my input and values my contributions. Benefits are good and I have great flexibility so I can take care of things at home when needed etc. Having every other Friday off is the best. 9/80 rules and vacation policy is generous. In big companies often you are just another drop in the bucket. At LR you are part of a small dedicated team and you have direct impact. I like that.

Cons

Being a start up company is difficult. Often times things appear uncoordinated and priorities shift often. You have to be willing to do that and work in that kind of environment. Processes need to be put in place to create order. The company is actively working on that currently. A big part of the company is working remote which brings challenges but it is a great benefit. You have to be self motivated and make sure you are visible or you get forgotten. At HQ in Herndon VA and at the HI location this is is easier because people are local and have face to face time more often.

Pros

The legacy work is great (if you read up on past and current missions) and will remain critical/important. Leadership is also forward-looking to expand and improve capabilities and missions, so there is always a new opportunity on the horizon. This means the team can encourage and execute that growth. Refreshing. Leadership is almost entirely new and very transparent. They expect a mindset of continuous improvement (not just encouraged). Everyone can make an impact. Everyone counts. Everyone is a true stakeholder. High accountability. Drama-free for the most part.

Cons

Being a subsidiary to a parent company (Boeing) can come with challenges (compliance, scaling process, due diligence, approval chains, etc.) but most hurdles have been cleared/worked out, or few left can be. Some roles are remote or at another location, which is only a con for some people, but this does mean you have to commit to sharp communication skills and doing your part to stay connected. Not a fit for anyone that needs face-to-face with most of the team daily.

Pros

Great and dynamic team of staff; fun, friendly, and low hierarchy. The nature of the technology requires a flexible mindset and willingness to quickly adapt and change course, if necessary. I love this type of environment because it never gets old and there is always something new to learn. Self initiative and the motivation to make positive change goes a long way. Working remotely works great for me, and the 9/80 schedule (i.e., 9 hours per day, and every other Friday off) really makes a difference.

Cons

For those who prefer a firm framework and more structure in their work environment may have a hard time with the fast changing pace. A good amount of the employees is working remotely, which can be challenging for some.
