Pros

Retail store with non-Retail hours - more like a 9-5 Retail job. Employee Discounts. Upfront written job duties. Business purpose is to help the community. PTO with guaranteed annual raises of at least 4%. Advancement opportunities are fairly simple to get if you put in the work and include a physical checklist so you can monitor your own progress. Policy & Procedure handbook easily accessible. Company Culture Seminar explaining what the goals are and how we intend to get there. Upper management/Corporate employees are more easily accessible than I've experienced in other companies. Salaried, non-exempt so there is some overtime compensation. I've been a lot of complaints about how "employees are not valued" which I could not disagree with more. There are many employees who acknowledge co-worker success including Corporate members and yearly awards given for top manager, non-manager employee and secret shopper. There are also company paid manager meetings twice per year and the Culture Seminar priory mentioned which all include hotels, food and paid training.

Cons

A lot of things go into Rent-To-Own, training could use some improvement. Salaried position means average work weeks are 40-50/wk depending on position and customer needs - but more often than not there are no unexpected "late nights". Pro/Con - Company treats all customers individually so a situation may be handled differently depending on the customer which can lead to confusion and inconsistency (most of the time there are explanations given and most are reasonable.) Advancements past Store Manager are tricky because the company is small. Health insurance has decent coverage with lower deductible but very high premium - combatted by company paying half, but still expensive. Great place to work if you don't have a personal life, but there could be MUCH more understanding for work/life balance.

Pros

They offer a respectable salary and are always closed on Sundays. The fringe benefits like the employee purchase program are very nice.

Cons

They are constantly changing the rules based on the owner's whim at the time. This makes it difficult to know what is right or wrong at the time. Upper management is also very unproffessional, gossiping about employees and lying to you.
