Pros

- There are many amazing scientists and staff at this company, it is what makes this job. - There are opportunities for technical achievement within projects, dependent on the available resources. Technical achievement may but not necessarily lead to patents, papers, and posters. - The company is small, so I had the chance to implement many of my own ideas regarding project work and company policies. - Networking at conferences and events is an option for those interested. -Employees here are required to be sufficient self-starters with a determined mindset towards accomplishing their daily assignments. These are necessary attributes if you want to survive, and to excel you should also be a proficient researcher (NO EXCEPTIONS).

Cons

Like other reviews comment, this company works with many SBIR government grants. When many grants are available, the work can become very busy and multitasking on multiple projects is expected. When grants are limited, pressure increases towards getting new grants. Both situations are stressful, will wear you down, and can take time to become acclimated to the ever-changing work environment. If you can handle that stress, and are comfortable with start-up style work effort, this is the place for you.
