I've worked on and off for Insight Consulting Group over the last few months and have really enjoyed the time that I spent there. I was brought on as needed and have liked working with everyone on the team. In the little time I've spent there, I quickly saw how much people care about their work and it's clear that when they bring in new people to help out, that they rely on them to do a good job and pull their weight. I felt like I was trained well by the two managers I had while working there. We had goals set each day and I felt like I knew what I was expected to do. I was also given opportunities to bring more to the table than what I was brought on to do which I didn't expect coming in on an as-needed basis. Insight is a fast-paced group and you need to be able to keep up with the rest of them.
Cons
Office isn't located in the easiest place to get to.
The ICG team is scrappy, hardworking, and committed. Because it is a small company, employees learn their roles fast and grow rapidly. The company specializes in pharmaceutical research, which provides a good balance of consistency (similar/familiar methodologies) with variety of topics (diversity of disease states). Work from home provides nice flexibility. Overall, a good work/life balance.
Cons
As a small company, ICG can't always compete with the financial and tactical resources of larger companies. Employees are expected to get the job done, often without efficiencies, which can be hard when project load is heavy and people are stretched thin.
