Pros

The hours are great and they are very accommodating with school hours and things like that.

Cons

Make sure you are a hardworking person because the lazy workers make the hard workers look bad

Pros

I have been at Fulton State Hospital for a number of years and although it challenges you both personally and professionally, it is very rewarding. You truly make a difference in the lives of clients and co-workers. The benefits are excellent (annual leave, sick leave, retirement, etc.) opportunities for advancement, including stipends and loan repayment. We also have nationally known treatment programming for those with serious and persistent mental illness.

Cons

Very challenging client population that can be demanding at times. With that said, to see the individual progress is very rewarding. Our pay structure is being evaluated to make sure we are competitive with like facilities in this area.

Pros

FSH has been an excellent career choice for me, offering both personal and professional growth. I have had the opportunity to work in an environment that supports my development and challenges me. Every day is something new and different, keeping me on my toes and constantly learning. The pay and benefits are awesome and the options for continued learning and assistance with loan repayment are the best in this area. Beyond all of these things, I'm thankful for the camaraderie that FSH gives. This can be a difficult job, but I know that I'm working with people who care about me and my wellbeing. Our patients are underserved, overlooked and sometimes forgotten. We get to show them why they still matter.

Cons

Communication is always an area for improvement, especially in a facility that is as large and spread out as FSH is.
