Pros
Great company to work for!
Cons
I do not have any cons
Pros
Loved the LXL management chain. Supportive, fun, progress-minded. The company as a whole was okay, but the department I was with made it amazing. Lots of opportunities to develop skills. Absolutely incredible visibility for diversity, which is celebrated and respected without hesitation.
Cons
Very high demand. Can be very challenging to learn how to balance work and breathing room without falling behind. Many other departments were quick to blame the LXL department in front of highly regarded stakeholders for failures that were not of our own. Pay also changes depending on the client you work with. My client was the highest paying client at the time I was employed. The LXLs working for the branch-off of work from my client were paid much more than I due to the intensity of the work. My pay was considered the cap for where I was, and getting a raise that was not just a few pennies was not going to happen. Moving up is possible but limited. Due to this company being a BPO, if the client no longer needs our work, we are liable to be laid off. Employees are not contracted, but TaskUs is contracted to the client. Layoffs are a possibility, be it near or far. I was laid off after 4 years and saw many waves of many sizes laid off while there.
Pros
Pay and bonuses were not bad, some nice people that work there. Imani, Gil and Rashad, are great trainers and Jumah and Derrick are professional leaders but there are no other pros to this place.
Cons
Management was absolutely horrendous. Most of the T1 personnel are constantly worried about getting fired because they just have to wing it on most calls. The OM for the Novi branch has no experience in autonomous vehicles and is inept in being a leader. For example, I asked for a shift change, due to a conflict with me using my Post 911 GI bill for college classes (something that is her responsibility for resolving) she got back to me two weeks later and told me that she’s not in charge of that area. So the manager who oversees all scheduling is not in charge of that…So in the end I missed five weeks of college classes due to her not being able to work with me. The whole training process makes little sense for the ERT portions. The PowerPoints are wrong 9/10 and a lot of the personnel just have to wing it. I also tried to get a family member hired and he quit his previous job to start at TaskUS. The night before his first training day they told him his job was in Detroit moving forward but he was told he’d be working out of Novi. So he didn’t start (due to the 150 mile daily commute instead of 30 miles if he would have been in Novi) but was unemployed due to the lack of communication on TaskUS’s behalf that his position would be out of Detroit…a few days later all of that training was moved back to Novi. I brought this up to upper management past OM level and they said, “oh we called him back to give him a job”. I called my family member, he verified that no TaskUS representative ever called him back to get him his job back due to their negligence. A couple weeks later my first day on “tool” for a monthly bonus and I get a message from a manager asking why I’m not on “tool”. I said break with the six other people from my training class and two trainers. About an hour later, I go and take a restroom break and that manager approaches me and ask why I’m not on tool, I say I just used the restroom. So I started to realize this manager was targeting me and that didn’t sit well with me so I spoke with him and told him it was unprofessional with how he went about that and how he didn’t say anything to anyone else just me. This place needs a serious overhaul in management, this is the 3rd AV place I’ve worked at and it’s the worst.
