Pros

Goosehead provides an entrepreneurial environment where motivated young leaders can grow quickly. The training and support systems are strong, especially for people early in their insurance or sales careers. Leadership encourages ownership and accountability, and there are clear opportunities for advancement for high performers. The culture is energetic, collaborative, and focused on results. A true meritocracy, you can make a lot of $$$ as a young seller straight out of college. I’ve also appreciated the investment in technology and the emphasis on innovation compared to more traditional insurance organizations.

Cons

Like many high-growth companies, the environment can be demanding and expectations are high. The pace is not for everyone, and work-life balance can fluctuate during especially busy periods. There is a lot of change but that is a symptom of being a high growth company well capitalized to change an entire industry.

Pros

Goosehead has a strong marketing and recruiting platform that sells the opportunity and growth within the organization. Culture of sales organization is young and vibrant and initially gives new employees lots of energy. There is real opportunity for compensation upside if you can build referral relationships.

Cons

The lived experience compared to the culture advertised rarely lines up. What was once an organization that promoted heavily from within, now more and more brings in outside leadership. Not good at developing leaders from within the company or providing opportunity for junior leaders the opportunity to step into new roles. Sales management is immature and lacks professionalism. The culture and operating principles are discussed regularly but in my experience are just company marketing. If you want to get promoted you are better off appearing to fall in line instead of raising concerns or constructive criticism. They sell this as trust, but it's really just self interest.
