Pros

I have noticed that this company has a different cultural approach than any American company, in my experience. Their concern for work/life balance is genuine. This is very important to me, and one of the main reasons why I left the hospitality industry. Definiens has excellent pay, healthcare benefits, generous vacation/sick time, and the office itself is T accessible AND has parking! Occasionally, working from home is an option, which is something I appreciate. An outstanding characteristic of Definiens is the fact that they actually want people to work well together! Why? Because they know that office harmony is essential to happy employees. Definiens has been very supportive when I plan outings that are meant to be team-building activities; we participate in things that are physically challenging (like fencing or zip-lining), and volunteering (speaking & teaching at a local school). I have been given a fair amount of autonomy in my new position here. As such, my boss’ expectations are high, but not unrealistic. My efforts are appreciated and my ideas are valued and seriously considered. My curiosity about the company and it’s work is indulged, and I have the opportunity to be part of an internal team that actually changes policy! So my day to day work is hardly monotonous and extremely gratifying. When asked about my career goals, I was encouraged to think specifically, about what skills would strengthen my ability to provide support for our employees. Specific thinking with regards to one’s career provides both a benchmark by which I can reach the next level, as well as proof to me that my employer is seriously invested in my growth. No, they didn’t pay me to write this, it really is a great place to work.

Cons

They do not pay for your T pass. This is not a deal-breaker, but it would be a nice perk!

Pros

Very good and International working environment. Central and modern location in Munich's center, nice office, reasonable salaries, good working atmosphere among colleagues. Passionate colleagues.

Cons

Should have more team building activities.
