Pros
I can see that Consensus Economics tries to provide opportunities for aspiring graduates wanting a career in economics, a commendable attitude I must say. Many people have had a very positive time (myself included) and the experience of senior staff, which I maintain good relations with, make it very easy to deepen ones knowledge. The company has a good reputation in the field.
Cons
A negative, perhaps, is the intensity and complicated nature of some of the work. I found it hard to keep pace in the beginning. It was quite a shock to the system, in fact. Having come from a top university, with highly respectable grades, I found myself struggling in waters outside my comfort zone. Academic studies are meant to prepare you with the practical tools for the real world, don’t they? I can’t fault the training, however.

Good team dynamics. Positive attitude to work. The buzz rubs off.
Cons
A lot of the training is on the job. Very steep learning curve. Tight deadlines. These guys have unusually high standards.
