Pros
Trying to solve lots of new technical and market driven problems as Canvas goes after new emerging market for autonomous vehicles in manufacturing environment. Strong and talented staff, especially technical team leads and company leadership with good vision for the company. Strong focus on software development process. Willing to stay focused on developing best technology for computer vision, while many other companies take shortcuts to ship product. Places priority on customer service and adding long-term value through quality products, rather than quick revenue. Successful fundraising path. Dogs in office and chocolate milk!
Cons
Compensation below market rates, and equity offers lean at this stage. Unable to hire engineering talent quickly (maybe need higher compensation packages?)....so teams are understaffed for workload and company goals. Market for product is still new and tricky to navigate.

Pros
A lot of freedom to learn and try things. Technology on the forefront in the industry and an ability to make a difference. We have fun at work! Never a dull day and I've yet to have a day where I don't want to come to work.
Cons
Don't expect to be rich too early.
