Description British Nuclear Fuels (BNFL) is just the shell of its former self. Once a provider of range of nuclear power-related services in Europe, Asia, and North America, the UK state-owned company has spun off all its business and has no operations. It continues in existence in order to meet pension liabilities and any obligations arising from earlier nuclear waste disposal activities. Its former businesses included Sellafield Ltd, which was responsible for contracts on behalf of the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA), and Nexia Solutions (now National Nuclear Laboratory) which provided technology services and solutions across the nuclear fuel cycle.
