Description Crime, be "dammed" in The Beaver State. That's if the Oregon Department of State Police (OSP) has anything to say about it. This state agency was formed to support city police and sheriffs' departments. Among its specialized duties, OPS handles transportation safety, major crime and drug investigations, forensic services, fish and wildlife oversight, and gambling enforcement and regulation. Additionally, it handles state emergency response coordination and medical examiner services. The OSP also houses Oregon's Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) force and the state Fire Marshal, and serves as the point-of-contact to the US Department of Homeland Security.
