Based in horse racing country, Wincanton hopes to stay on the inside track of the highly competitive UK outsourced logistics market. The company offers a range of supply chain management services to consumer goods and industrial companies, among others, including automated and general warehousing and fleet management. Maintaining 2.8 million sq. meters of storage space, it operates warehouses in more than 15 European countries and owns a fleet of 6,500 vehicles and 25 locomotives. Clients have included Ford, Procter & Gamble, and Tesco. In mid 2011 Wincanton announced plans to sell all of its non-UK European operations to German logistics company Rhenus AG & Co.
