Itautec thinks it just makes "cents" for a bank to manufacture its own ATMs. Itautec is the electronics arm of Brazilian conglomerate Investimentos Itau. The company makes and sells banking, retail, and consumer electronics, namely automated teller machines, self-service checkout stations, interactive touch screen kiosks, retail and banking software, PCs, monitors, laptop computers, servers and network equipment. It also provides installation, server management, training, and help desk capabilities. Itautec has won design awards and patents for its futuristic-looking self-service stations. The company operates mainly out of Brazil but has subsidiaries across Latin America and in Portugal, Spain, and the US (Miami).
