We have a successful and growing team with branches nationwide, who now need a team member in the Palmerston North region, to grow with them.
This role is looking for energetic and passionate individual with the preference of a hands-on approach to join our team as a Hazmat Consultant.
Primary duties include but not limited to:
Perform asbestos/HAZMAT surveys
Perform asbestos air monitoring and clearance inspections
Asbestos register reviews and generation
Perform methamphetamine testing and reporting
Develop, implement, and evaluate risk management policies and programs
Technical reporting of risk mitigation and management strategies
Perform Occupational Hygiene monitoring under the supervision of Environmental and Occupational Hygiene Manager
Must have the ability to:
Climb ladders and scaffold
Work with mask and suit on, in small enclosures
Proficient in using Microsoft word and software/app-based programs
Be flexible with working hours and weekends occasionally
Work autonomously in the field and effectively within a team environment
Regularly travel regionally as required
Desired qualifications/skills
1-5 years of relevant experience as a field technician or similar. Experience with construction would be a plus, but not essential.
Asbestos Assessor License or equivalent qualifications that would allow you to complete works as a qualified person and obtain a license promptly.
BOHS IP402, IP404 or International equivalent desirable
Excellent verbal and written communication skills including Microsoft Office Suite
A tertiary qualification in science would be advantageous
An understanding of WHS, consulting and risk management
