Squad: Data Enablement Squad
Location: Auckland – C:Drive (hybrid)
Type: Permanent
Mo te tūranga | About the role
At ASB, we’re modernising how we support business and corporate lending, and this role sits at the heart of that transformation.
As a Senior Data Engineer in the L&P Data Enablement (nCino) Squad, you’ll help uplift our credit risk data foundations while enabling the bank’s move to nCino on Salesforce. You’ll design and build robust, auditable data pipelines that support risk‑rated lending, while helping evolve our landscape from on‑premise platforms (WhereScape RED / SQL Server and our Group Data Warehouse using Kimball star schemas) to a modern cloud platform on Snowflake and dbt.
This is a hands‑on role with real influence across Credit Risk, Lending, and Enterprise Data Platforms — ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex data problems in a highly regulated environment and shaping future‑state data capabilities.
Te mahi | What you’ll do
Build and run nCino data pipelines
Design, develop and operate upstream and downstream ETL pipelines between nCino and our on‑premise staging environment (WhereScape RED on SQL Server), with a strong focus on data integrity, reconciliation and auditability.
Model data for credit risk
Deliver and maintain dimensional data models for risk‑rated lending and credit risk analytics, applying Kimball star schema practices within the Group Data Warehouse and, over time, in Snowflake using dbt.
Support our cloud migration
Convert legacy ETL processes to dbt and help establish high‑quality Producer and Consumer Data Products on Snowflake as core Group DW workloads migrate to the cloud.
Partner across squads
Work closely with Credit Risk, platform engineers and product teams to balance delivery, risk controls and customer outcomes.
