We are looking for an intermediate-to-senior DevOps Engineer with a broad technical toolkit to partner with our specialist Computer Network Operations (CNO) Research & Development team. Our CNO DevOps function goes beyond "traditional" DevOps - it underpins the full lifecycle of the GCSB's Computer Network Operations, an important enabler to enhance GCSB's intelligence mission.
The role:
In this role, you will work hand-in-hand with CNO R&D Engineers, Developers, Infrastructure Engineers and Operators to automate, test and release software at speed and scale. You will own the platforms, tools and pipelines that keep the CNO environment reliable, secure and ready for rapid capability evolution, while embedding continuous-integration/continuous-delivery (CI/CD) practices that meet the unique demands of an intelligence-focussed organisation.
Who we are looking for:
To be successful in this role, you will have strengths in a number of the following areas:
Intermediate-to-senior level DevOps skillsets
Working knowledge and relevant experience in software automation, software testing or similar
Proven experience in software programming, preferably Python
Proven experience in DevOps tools and conventions, e.g. Ansible, Terraform, Docker, GitLab, Infrastructure-as-Code
Experience with Linux, especially Enterprise Linux such as RHEL desirable, Red Hat Certification a plus
Experience with managing mobile development and test infrastructure
Expertise in working in virtualised/containerised environments
Knowledge and experience with CI/CD pipelines
Understanding of the design and implementation of automation frameworks in software development systems
Understanding of cyber security concepts and vulnerabilities, exploit techniques and methods for their remediation desirable
C, C++, C#, .NET software development skills desirable
Enthusiasm is essential, as you work with peers and the wider development community to embed DevOps best practice, collaborate across teams, systems and technologies, and tackle the unique challenges that safeguard New Zealand's security, while growing your own skills.
