About the role
The Lumber Quality Analyst plays a key role in ensuring consistent product quality while driving continuous improvement across operations. This position combines practical operational understanding with data analysis to identify trends, improve performance, and maximise value across the supply chain.
Working closely with cross-functional teams, the role supports problem-solving, investigates quality and customer issues, and delivers insights that inform better decision-making. It also contributes to strengthening systems, processes, and compliance.
Key responsibilities include:
Ensuring consistency between defined quality standards and automated system outputs, becoming a subject matter expert in key technology used in the process
Monitoring performance data and identifying opportunities to improve outcomes and efficiency
Supporting the ongoing improvement of systems, processes, and controls across the operation
Providing support and cover across the wider team as needed to maintain smooth operations
Investigating quality or customer issues, identifying root causes, and implementing effective solutions
Contributing to environmental and sustainability objectives, supporting the organisation’s commitment to responsible and sustainable operations

About you
You combine practical operational experience with strong analytical capability, enabling you to identify opportunities, solve problems, and drive continuous improvement.
You will bring:
A strong aptitude for analysis and critical thinking
A relevant tertiary qualification
Proven ability to build trust and collaborate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders
Clear and confident communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey information concisely
Ideally, you will also have:
Experience in quality, analytics, or technical roles within manufacturing or processing environments
Demonstrated analytical capability, with the ability to identify trends, patterns, and variances
A solid understanding of production processes and quality standards/specifications
Strong problem-solving skills, sound judgement, and a high level of attention to detail
Good systems literacy, with SAP experience being an advantage
