About the Role
As a Cardiologist, you will work in a small team of local Cardiologists supporting the Hawkes Bay communitys Cardiology needs. You will lead the implantable device programme which provides Brady pacing to LBAP, CRT and ICD therapies.
In addition, you will provide 1/5 on-call, 2/8 ward cover, outpatient clinics and some outreach to our rural centres.
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a growing team who are leading the way in regional cardiology. There is strong support from our Wellington tertiary provider.
About the Team/Service/ Location
Our team consists of 5 consultants, 2 RMOs (with an Advance trainee possible), 3-4 sonographers, 2-3 Cardiac Physiologists, 2 Nurse Practitioners, 3 senior nurses including dedicated Heart Function and Cardiac Rehab nurses and a large registered nurse team that supports outpatients, cath lab and ward operations.
Our device programme supports over 1000 patients and implants 130-160 devices a year, both acutely and electively.
Hawkes Bay is currently piloting a fortnightly regional PCI programme and is looking to develop a formal acute CTCA programme.

About you
As a Cardiologist you will be experienced in both general inpatient and outpatient cardiology patient management. Specific experience we are seeking (in order of priority) includes:

CIED implantation and management
-
Diagnostic procedures such as bubble studies, TOEs, stress echos
-
ECHO reporting
-
DCCV
-
Angiography
-
CTCA reporting
There is scope to accommodate your specific cardiology interests within the Hawkes Bay service.
