Job Description
As a Civil Engineer, you will design and deliver civil infrastructure projects including transport systems, water networks, land development, and climate resilience solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Design civil infrastructure projects such as roads, drainage, earthworks, and utilities
Prepare engineering drawings, designs, and technical reports
Work on transport projects including roads, cycleways, and rail systems
Support water infrastructure projects (stormwater, wastewater, flood management)
Contribute to land development and subdivision projects
Assist with coastal and climate resilience engineering projects
Conduct site inspections and field investigations
Use engineering software such as Civil 3D, AutoCAD, 12D, and modelling tools
Collaborate with geotechnical, environmental, and structural engineers
Liaise with councils, contractors, and clients
Ensure compliance with NZ Building Code, council standards, and environmental regulations
Support project delivery from concept design through to construction
Requirements
Essential
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (BE or equivalent)
2–5+ years experience for intermediate roles (graduate roles also available)
Strong analytical and design skills
Good communication and report writing abilities
Ability to work in multidisciplinary engineering teams
Preferred
Familiarity with NZ civil engineering standards and council requirements
Experience using civil design software (Civil 3D, AutoCAD, 12D)
Experience in infrastructure or land development projects
