The role:
Bring your expertise to our Intelligence Production team! We're actively hiring analysts with strong Indo-Pacific foreign languages skills, including Mandarin, to help drive our insights.

You'll transform foreign language material into actionable intelligence that safeguards New Zealand's future. Operation with autonomy, your work will directly shape national security decisions - giving you the rare satisfaction of seeing the real-world impact of your work.

You will need to be able to start your career with us in Wellington, but there may be the opportunity for relocation to Auckland in future.

About you:To be successful in this role, you will have:
Proven ability in a foreign language - Can you read newspaper articles and listen to news bulletins or podcasts in another language?

Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills - Can you work well with others and write clear, concise reports?

Strong research and analytical skills - Can you join the dots between multiple different sources to procude a comprehensive narrative?

This is a multi-level role that can cater to a range of experience levels.

Level 1: $63,497 - $67,730

Level 2: $87,048 - $92,851

Level 3: $103,009 - $109,876

Before you apply:
Working within our unique environment means we have to ensure you're eligible for employment.

You must:
Have been a New Zealand Citizen for at least 10 years

OR

Hold a current NZ Residency Class Visa and ideally have been a citizen of the UK, USA, Canada or Australia for at least 10 years

Be eligible to obtain a Top Secret Special (TSS) security clearance

Ordinarily, this means you'll have a 15 year checkable background in countries NZSIS Vetting can make meaningful and reliable checks.
