The Role
We're on the hunt for a Duty Manager to keep the good times running smoothly at Miss Lucy's and across LyLo Auckland. You'll be the go-to person on shift — part host, part problem-solver, part hype-person — making sure guests have an unforgettable stay while keeping the operation ticking over like clockwork. Whether it's a full house checking in, a busy night at the bar, or a curveball only a Duty Manager could handle, you'll bring the calm, the confidence and the charisma to make it all look easy.
This role works 3–5 days a week, and we're after someone with availability across all 7 days for either morning or evening shifts — so if you love variety and don't mind mixing up your week, this one's for you.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day running of Miss Lucy's in the absence of the Venue Manager.
- Be the face of Miss Lucys — greeting guests, solving problems on the spot, and making sure every interaction has that signature LyLo warmth
- Lead, support and motivate the team on shift, jumping in wherever an extra hand is needed
- Handle guest feedback and complaints with a solutions-first, no-drama approach
- Maintain safety, security and compliance standards across the property
- Log the important stuff in the duty manager handover so the next shift's set up for success
What You'll Bring
- Previous experience in a Duty Manager, or hospitality leadership role
- A current Duty Manager's Certificate (essential)
- A genuine love of people — you thrive on making guests' days better
- Cool, calm energy under pressure and sharp problem-solving instincts
- Strong communication skills and the confidence to lead a team on shift
- Flexibility to work mornings or evenings across a 7-day roster
- A good sense of humour and a "no job too small" attitude
