About the Role

At Gallagher, we design and manufacture industry-leading electronic products where quality, reliability, and compliance are critical. We're looking for a Test Engineering Lead to lead the testing and validation of our electronic hardware, manufacturing processes, and production test systems—ensuring every product we build performs as designed before it reaches our customers.

This is a leadership role within our Electronics Engineering team. You'll lead a team of test engineers and technicians, driving the strategy, systems, and continuous improvement of product verification and manufacturing test across the product lifecycle.

Your work will help ensure our products meet customer expectations, manufacturing standards, and regulatory requirements while supporting efficient, high-quality production.

What you'll do

You'll own the test strategy for electronic products, from design verification through to manufacturing test, ensuring our test systems are robust, scalable, and continuously improving.

Key responsibilities include:

• Developing and implementing test strategies for electronic products and manufacturing environments.

• Defining test requirements and specifications for new electronic products and production test systems.

• Leading the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of manufacturing test processes and automated test equipment (ATE).

• Overseeing the setup, maintenance, and optimisation of test equipment, fixtures, and test environments.

• Analysing test data to identify product, process, and manufacturing trends, driving corrective actions and continuous improvement.

• Ensuring compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and quality management systems.

• Working closely with Electronics Design, Manufacturing Engineering, Production, and Quality teams to deliver reliable, manufacturable products.

• Communicating test progress, risks, and outcomes to technical and business stakeholders.

You'll lead a team of test engineers and technicians, providing technical direction, setting clear expectations, and building capability across the function. You'll foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and engineering excellence while ensuring the team delivers high-quality outcomes that support both product development and manufacturing.

What you'll bring

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.

• 5+ years' experience in electronics test engineering or manufacturing test engineering, including experience leading technical teams.

• Strong understanding of electronic hardware testing, design verification, and manufacturing test methodologies.

• Experience with automated test equipment (ATE), test development, test scripting, and data acquisition systems.

• Knowledge of manufacturing engineering principles and production test environments.

• Understanding of quality systems, regulatory requirements, and product compliance in electronics manufacturing.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a practical, hands-on approach.

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence and collaborate across engineering, manufacturing, and production teams.
