The Role
Our Leapfrog team are looking for a passionate and collaborative Software Engineer to join them. You will play a role in building our world leading desktop geological modelling software, Leapfrog. Day-to-day you will have impact on what we build and how we build it. You will engage and collaborate with experts across multiple domains within Seequent.
As a Software Engineer at Seequent you will have plenty of opportunities to grow your technical skillset, share your knowledge with others, and solve complex problems that have real world impact!
In this role, you will:

Design and document improvements to UI, integrations with 1st and 3rd party platforms, backend, core libraries and algorithms.

Write clean and testable code.
-
Support release cycles, from planning to rollout, though you won't be expected to be "on-call".

Debug issues and make the product better every day.

Review code developed by other engineers and provide feedback to ensure best practices.

Understand customer problems and be an active participant in coming up with feasible solutions.

Work in a cross discipline team of 6 alongside with Product Manager and Product Designer.
To be successful in this role, you should have:
-
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent.

5+ years working in relevant Software Engineering roles.

Demonstrated ability to work in a highly collaborative, agile team environment.

What would be advantageous:

Familiarity with Cybersecurity principles and best practices.

Familiarity with CI/CD Pipelines and DevOps practices.

Familiarity with GCP, AWS or Azure technical stacks stacks.
-
Familiarity and interest in the latest developments in AI.

Familiarity with geoscience libraries.
Technology we utilise:

Python, C/C++.

PyQt/Qt, Matplotlib.

SQLite, NumPy, hdf.

GDAL, Geos, Shapely.
Tools we prefer:

PyCharm, Visual Studio, Visual Studio Code.

Additional Information
Office-based working environment, work from our Christchurch office three or more days per week.
