Ecosystem interview question

You have 9 eggs and all are equal weight except 1 egg. You have a scale where you can place eggs on either side and the scale will be balanced if there is equal weight on both sides of the scale. What is the minimum amount of times you can use the scale with the eggs to determine which egg is a different weight without luck involved?
