Your responses are very different than the contract and different than what I was told in the interview process. I asked multiple people at your company to respond in writing to the GIANT red flags in the contract but no one would respond in writing only by phone and that was to essentially tell me not to listen to the attorneys. I have worked for companies based in at least 4 states that I did not live in and NEVER had to agree to a contract governed by a state that I did not live and work in. So no, that is not usual except perhaps for Vermont. The fact that your employee attempted to get me to disregard legal advice that was for my protection is very serious. It is a demonstration of your company values. The fact that you seem to expect someone to reject legal advice should reinforce to anyone how critical it is to have a qualified attorney review any contract with this company before signing.
