Talked about protecting them, insulating them from "noise". Giving them freedom to work, including at home, depending on company policy. Clearing paths for them. Interpreting upper management desires and strategy and distilling it down to their levels; help them understand how important their work is to the company. Being open, honest, and transparent. Making myself available and staying in touch with them without micromanaging or hovering. Keeping them informed. Ensuring we're all on the same page and present a unified team to the rest of the org.
