Classic interview problems
Anonymous
Yes, NextDoor has "classic interview problems" as I understand that. I interviewed for 1 hour, was asked to perform a single, simple programming task - a task with follow-up questions which the interviewer admitted were not even remotely relevant to the job. The interviewer would say to take my time, and talk through it, but would interrupt me and talk over me repeatedly. It was a programming tool I'd never used. The interview format, environment and way he handled it, for someone like myself who is very nervous in interviews and doesn't test well, is ideal for showing someone at their worst possible performance. This is basically the same as stage fright, where you forget numbers you've played a million times, forget where you are in the song or how many repeats you were supposed to do, etc. The response was that "the team" decided I "did not meet our technical requirements." Except my technical abilities weren't adequately evaluated and there was no team, but a single person scheduled to talk with me.
