Fairly standard new talk with HR they ask you if you basic questions they move you on to a team's interview that didn't goes into a panel that then later goes on to a solder test and to see if you know how to operate in oscilloscope all pretty standard but also make sure that you say that you want to become an engineer even though no one nowadays have to mean to do is such so make sure you lie.

Question 1
What are you what are your professional goals for the future ?
It started with a phone screen with HR and background check docs. After that I had a technical interview over video. The interviewers were prepared with basic optics questions (e.g., what is F/#?, what is comatic aberration?) and assessed me for specific skills needed for upcoming projects.
I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Areté (Healdsburg, CA) in Aug 2025
Interview
15 min screening -> 1 hr technical screening going over qualifications and basic C++ and OS related questions -> 3 hour panel interview.
the panel interview included me presenting a project (15-20mins) I did in the past, and there was also a take home assignment I had to do prior to the panel.
The interview process was also very slow, it took a month after the technical screening for them to schedule the panel interview with me.

They asked me to complete a take home assignment which tasked me with implementing a convolution algorithm in C++, for input files.
