What's your favorite subject line to use when cold emailing CDs your book?
Serious question. Are there any agencies left that arenât drinking the AI-Generated performance marketing Kool Aid? You know, like ones doing actual concepts? Seems like there are a few left. Mischief, Opinionated, Rethink, maybe Goodby. Who else am I missing?
Any tips for a call with an in-house recruiter at an agency? What do I say if they ask why I want to leave my current agency?
At what point does it stop being about craft and start becoming a waste of time? When you're nitpicking details that nobody will notice except the creative team. How do you decide which battles are worth fighting?
Any advice for how to get out of a bad partnership. Idk how Iâm going to make this workâtheyâre really slow, terrible craft, canât manage their time or meet a deadline, barely bring any ideas forward but also no chemistry when we try to jam together AND terrible presenter. Itâs only been 3 months but the writing is on the wall. Also I have had convos with them about working style, preferences, managing expectations etc. Do I just have to wait it out till they mess up on something big time?
Billing
Activation=trying to get a consumer to act, after experiencing/sampling the product. As in, the consumer would sign up or buy it right there. Itâs usually tied to some kind of event. Nowadays itâs used to mean âexperientialâ which is sometimes technically incorrect if thereâs no action the consumer can take towards a purchase after the experience. But if you point it out, people will think youâre pedantic.
ACTIVATE THE SENSES
So... direct response? I mean, isnât all advertising technically âactivationâ of some sort? That award category feels as tacked-on as it gets. And thatâs saying something.
I was going to say that. Itâs a sexy new way of saying âdirect response"
We're activating brand affinity on an emotional level in order to speak truth to shared values and spark social conversations between brands and their followers in order to create a more inclusive society where people of all races genders religions and political views feel safe and welcomed and valued. That. Or just selling shit. It's definitely one of those two things.
